Verdict

A serious agent platform at a price written for somebody else. Agentforce is on this list because a small business owner searching for the best AI agent will meet it inside the first minute, and deserves to be told plainly what it costs: $2 per conversation, $500 per 100,000 Flex Credits, and Agentforce 1 editions from $550 per user per month. At $2 a conversation, a thousand customer conversations a month is $2,000 before anybody has been paid. Foundations is genuinely free and genuinely requires Salesforce. Nothing here is bad. It is simply priced for a company with a procurement department, and a ten person business does not have one.

What customers praise

The most complete governance story on this page: the permissions, the audit trail, the testing and the deployment controls exist because enterprises made Salesforce build them, and a regulated small business that can afford it gets a level of oversight nothing else here matches. Agentforce Foundations at $0 gives an existing Salesforce customer a real way to test the idea, with the builder, Prompt Builder, Agent Script and the coworker tools included, before signing anything.

What customers criticise

The per conversation meter is the wrong shape for a small business: $2 a conversation turns a good month into an expensive one, and the whole point of a support agent is volume. Agentforce 1 at $550 per user per month is more than most small businesses spend on all software combined. Everything free about it presumes you already pay for Salesforce, and implementation is not a weekend job; it is the kind of project that acquires a consultant. If you are under fifty people, almost every other entry on this list is a better use of the same money.

Best for

A company already standardised on Salesforce with enough conversation volume and enough governance requirements to justify enterprise pricing, which is very few small businesses
