Verdict
The smallest product on this page and the one most firms should buy first. Uncat does one job. It finds the transactions nobody has categorised, asks the client to explain them and attach the document, and syncs the answer back. It syncs to and from QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop and Xero, which is three named systems in both directions, more than eight of the other ten manage. At $9 a client a month, forty clients is $4,320 a year. Set that against a senior who spends two days a month writing what is this charge emails and the arithmetic is not close. It is also the honest entry on this page: Uncat does not claim AI on the page I read, and I am not going to claim it for them. It is automation that works, sitting on a list of products that mostly claim more and name less.
What customers praise
Three accounting systems named, and the page states the sync runs to and from all three. Nine dollars a client a month is the only price here a firm can trial without a meeting. It solves the specific thing that makes a close late, which is not the bookkeeper's speed, it is the client's silence. QuickBooks Desktop being on that list matters, because plenty of American firms still have clients who will not move off it.
What customers criticise
It is one feature. A firm buying Uncat still needs practice management, still needs a portal, still needs somewhere the work lives. The page read this run does not name a model, a method or an AI capability, so if the brief is buy AI, this is not that. Per client pricing means a firm with 200 clients pays $21,600 a year for one function, at which point building the same chase on top of an existing portal starts to look reasonable. No published firm count, funding or customer list.
Best for
Any firm whose close stalls on transactions the client has to explain, which is close to every bookkeeping firm in the United States.
