Verdict

Prophet 21 calls itself the only ERP designed by distributors for distributors, and the page lists the verticals it means: industrial, electrical, fasteners, fluid power, HVAC, janitorial and medical supply. It promises up to the minute financial reports and dashboards, sales tracked by employee and order type, outstanding invoices by customer, a real time general ledger and a forecast engine backed by machine learning that picks the best model from dozens. The WMS is designed for distributors and covers receiving, cross docking, put away and cycle counting across one warehouse or dozens. It sits eighth because it prints no price, and because the only operating metric it names is turn times.

What customers praise

Sales by employee and order type and invoices by customer are the two views a distribution owner uses to run the sales desk, and Prophet 21 names both. Epicor Grow for AI analytics and Epicor Prism for generative AI sit alongside it.

What customers criticise
