Verdict

The least disruptive path for a shop whose accounts are not moving. Fishbowl exists because QuickBooks cannot hold inventory properly, and that has been its job long enough that the bridge is the product. The published tiers are legible: Essentials at $229 a month billed annually with two users, Growth at $429 with five, Scale at $729 with ten, seats included rather than metered. The difficulty is that the manufacturing product is the other one. Fishbowl Advanced Manufacturing starts at $675 a month, is priced by users and deployment, and is always confirmed by quote, which puts the number a manufacturer actually needs behind a call.

What customers praise

Seats are included in the tier rather than metered, so a ten person shop on Scale is not choosing between visibility and cost. The Inventory tiers are published to the dollar with their user counts, which makes the entry point comparable against everything above it. And for a company whose bookkeeper, accountant and ten years of history live in QuickBooks, the cheapest correct answer is often the one that leaves the ledger alone.

What customers criticise

Two products with two pricing models on one page, and the manufacturing one needs a quote. The company states on that page that an implementation package is required as part of any Fishbowl purchase and does not publish what it costs, so the real first year figure is unknown at the moment of comparison, which is exactly when it matters. The Advanced prices are marked illustrative and subject to change. A buyer here is comparing a published price against an unpublished one inside the same vendor.
