The right answer for the business that is already Microsoft, and an expensive answer for everyone else. Microsoft publishes two routes and they are worth comparing before buying: the Copilot add on at $18.00 per user per month paid yearly, which requires a separate qualifying Microsoft 365 licence, or a bundled plan with Copilot built in at $23.50 for Business Standard and $32.00 for Business Premium. For a company already paying for Business Standard, the bundle is frequently the cheaper line once both invoices are on the table, and that arithmetic is the whole decision.

What customers praise

Nothing else reaches as far into where a traditional small business actually keeps its work: the spreadsheet with the real numbers, the shared drive with the contracts, the Teams thread where the decision was made. It reads those in place, with the permissions the company has already set, which is a security posture a small business cannot build for itself. Both the add on and the bundled routes are priced in public, annual and monthly, so the comparison can be done without a sales call.

What customers criticise

The pricing structure is the weakness. A qualifying Microsoft 365 licence is required before the add on can be bought at all, so the real number is two lines rather than one, and the headline $18.00 is promotional against a regular price of $21.00. Annual commitment is required for that rate, which is the least reversible purchase on this page for a buyer who may be wrong.
