Real time margins named and the price printed, but the margin reporting is Premium and no accounting system is named.

Verdict

Rocketlane says real time margins as work unfolds and real time insights into project bottlenecks, financials, utilization and customer sentiment. It prints its price: $49 per team member a month on Standard, $69 on Premium, both billed annually with a five member minimum and a 14 day trial. The catch for a managing partner is that utilization tracking, margins and profitability, revenue recognition and the project profitability report are all Premium features. By our arithmetic ten people on Premium is $8,280 a year. It also names HubSpot, Jira, Slack and, on Premium, Salesforce, but no accounting system.

What customers praise

It is the only product here built around the client sitting inside the project, which suits a firm whose revenue depends on getting a customer live. It says it has run 100+ migrations including from Kantata and Certinia. Named customers include Observe.AI, SupportLogic and GoCardless.

What customers criticise

No QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite is named, so the live margin stops short of the books. Implementation packages are charged extra and not priced. The resourcing agents are marked coming soon. GoCardless appears with 59 percent faster time to value on the homepage and 20 percent on the pricing page. Work in progress is not named.

Best for

A US software company's implementation or onboarding team, or a services firm that delivers software rollouts, that wants margin and utilization live and the customer inside the same project.
