Unanet names the deepest set of owner numbers on this page. Its analytics page promises real time visibility to the metrics that matter and lists profitability, growth rate, backlog, utilization and direct labor multiplier, and its sample dashboard shows WIP and unbilled. Backlog and WIP are the two numbers that tell an engineering principal what next quarter looks like and how much has been worked but not billed. It is an ERP, so the books are inside it rather than joined to it. It prints no price, which is what holds it at seven.

What customers praise

Direct labor multiplier is a number only an architecture and engineering vendor would think to put on a dashboard, and it shows the product was built for that trade. Unanet says it has 100+ pre built connectors and names Power BI, Tableau and Qlik for analysis. Named customers include Swinerton, Eskew Dumez Ripple, OHM and NewFields.

What customers criticise

No price anywhere. It replaces your accounting rather than joining to QuickBooks, so it is a bigger decision than a PSA. The connector names are images on its integrations page, so none could be read. The homepage says 4,200 customers and the about page says 4,000+. Firms outside architecture, engineering, construction and government contracting are not its stated market.

Best for

A US architecture or engineering firm, or a government contractor, that wants backlog, WIP and utilization on one dashboard and is ready to replace its accounting system to get it.
