Verdict

If your company already runs on Microsoft, this is the cheapest agent you will ever deploy, because the deployment is a licence change. The pre built agents Microsoft ships, Researcher, Analyst and Facilitator, sit inside the applications where the work already is, which removes the copy and paste tax that costs the top three entries on this list most of their real world value. The Business tier at $18.00 a user paid yearly is aimed squarely at companies under 300 people and is currently priced below the standard $21.00. It is a genuinely good deal and it is a deal on rails: everything good about it assumes you are a Microsoft shop.

What customers praise

No migration, no new vendor, no new login, and the agents appear inside Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams where the work already happens. At $18.00 per user per month paid yearly the Business tier undercuts both ChatGPT Business and Claude Team while sitting closer to the data. Copilot Studio gives a company that outgrows the pre built agents somewhere to go without changing platform, at $200.00 for a 25,000 credit pack a month.

What customers criticise

The headline price is a floor, not a ceiling. Copilot Business is an add on to a Microsoft 365 licence you must already hold, so the real monthly cost is the licence plus the add on, and the full Microsoft 365 Copilot at $30.00 is a different and more expensive product than the one advertised at $18.00. Copilot Studio moves you onto a credit meter where the credits consumed per agent action vary, which is precisely the kind of bill a small business cannot forecast. And if you are a Google shop, none of this applies and you should stop reading at this entry.

Best for

A small business already paying for Microsoft 365, where the work lives in Outlook, Excel and Teams and the last thing anyone wants is a tenth browser tab
