Verdict

AscendTMS is the cheapest way on this page to put a brokerage on a TMS: Basic $69, Premium $119 and Pro $149 per user a month, a free 30 day trial, no contract and no setup fee. It says it posts to up to 53 load boards including Getloaded, Truckstop and 123Loadboard, with a paid DAT or Truckstop subscription required, and that factoring is integrated with Triumph Business Capital. It ranks eighth because most of its other connections are logos, not sentences. The partners page links to Highway, MyCarrierPackets, Trucker Tools, FourKites and project44, but the text names none of them, the carrier vetting is described as built in without a vendor, and the accounting line says it integrates with most major account systems without naming one.

What customers praise

For a three person brokerage, Premium is $4,284 a year by our arithmetic, the lowest on this page outside Truckstop. Pro adds a shipper CRM, outbound EDI load tenders and order management. AscendTMS says over 63,300 companies rely on it.

What customers criticise

The homepage says plans start at zero dollars and the pricing page shows no $0 plan. Each plan says no user limit while charging per user. The same paragraph says 53 and 52 load boards. Several pages carry leftover template text about brand ambassador and influencer programmes. ascendtms.com/pricing is a login shell; the prices are on thefreetms.com. The 63,300 figure and the most used TMS claim are vendor claims.

Best for

A new or small brokerage that wants to start for almost nothing, post to many load boards at once and get paid through Triumph, and will do its own joining on the accounting side.
