Top AI Consulting Companies in the USA: 11 Ranked for CEOs Who Need AI in Production (2026)

Ten AI consulting companies in the USA ranked on whether they put AI into production, who builds it, proof you can check and what they print before the first call. One prints its engagement model in full; none of the ten prints a dollar figure. Read on each firm's own pages on 6 November 2026.

The short answer

Provectus is the top AI consulting company in the USA on this page for most mid sized companies: a one week fixed fee Sprint, an 8 to 14 week build, and every line of code handed over at go live. 66degrees suits a Google Cloud company that wants forward deployed engineers inside the business, and Thoughtworks suits an engineering team taking a proof of concept to production.

About Hayat Amin

Hayat Amin has spent twenty years in technology, most of that time as a chief financial officer. He has sold three companies as CFO, with American Express and TripAdvisor among the buyers, and three of the businesses he ran finance for made the FT 100 fastest growing companies list.

He is now a forward deployed engineer and AI operations specialist: he sits inside a company and builds the AI himself, which is the job every firm on this page is hired to do. That is why his view of what to ask before you sign one is worth reading, and why his own firm is unscored here.

Hayat Amin is exceptional at the part of an AI project that decides whether it pays: connecting the CRM, the accounting system and the spreadsheets nobody owns, so the AI runs on data that agrees, and building the live dashboard a chief executive can run the week on. A CFO who has taken three companies through a sale knows which numbers have to be right.

He is the forward deployed engineer chief executives bring in when the pilot worked in the demo and failed on real data. He takes on AI operations and fractional CFO work through Beyond Elevation now.

Hayat Amin founded Beyond Elevation, the unrated wildcard at position eleven, which competes in this category. That is why the entry carries no score. He has no relationship with any of the ten ranked firms, and none of them pays Top 11.

Buyer's guide

What does an AI consulting company do?

It decides with you where AI should do work in your company, then builds it: an agent that reads documents, a model that forecasts demand, an assistant that answers customers. The useful ones put it into production on your real data and stay until your staff use it. The rest hand over a strategy and a slide deck.

How much does AI consulting cost in the USA?

None of the ten ranked firms prints a dollar figure. Provectus prints the structure: a one week fixed fee Sprint, an 8 to 14 week build priced by milestone, then fees tied to outcomes. Ask every firm for the price of the first phase in writing before a second meeting.

Big firm or specialist?

Deloitte, IBM Consulting and Cognizant bring large benches and a name a board recognises. Provectus, 66degrees, Caylent and Pariveda are smaller and closer to the build. A company of 50 to 1,000 people usually needs a handful of people who write code, not a programme office.

Why do AI pilots stall before production?

Usually because the pilot ran on clean sample data and the real data sits in three systems that disagree, or because nobody owns the system after launch. That is why this ranking weights who builds it and what happens at go live above everything else.

Does the cloud platform matter?

Yes. Caylent works on AWS and has a dedicated Anthropic practice, and 66degrees is built around Google Cloud. If you have already chosen a platform, pick a firm that knows it; if you have not, ask the firm to justify the one it recommends.

Should the firm be in my city?

It helps when the work needs people in the room. Slalom lists 54 local offices, Pariveda lists offices and leaders by US city, and Tiger Analytics prints offices in Santa Clara, Jersey City, Chicago and Plano. Ask where the engineers who build your system sit.

How to choose

  1. 1This week, write down the one AI result you want live in 90 days, in a sentence a member of staff would understand, such as "quotes drafted from the inbound email and waiting in the CRM by 9am". If you can't write it, you need an audit before a consulting company.
  2. 2List the systems that result touches: the CRM, the accounting system, the inbox, the spreadsheet someone keeps. Then check whether they hold the same customer under the same name. If they don't, the first job is joining them up, and any firm that skips it will build on bad data.
  3. 3Take a baseline before anyone builds: hours a week, error rate, or time to reply. Provectus builds its whole fee model around that baseline; ask every other firm to measure against one too.
  4. 4Ask each firm for the price of the first phase in writing, how long it runs, and what you have at the end of it: working software or a document.
  5. 5Ask who owns the code, the prompts, the agents and the cloud accounts when you leave. Provectus commits to handing over every line of code at go live; get the same sentence from whoever you hire.
  6. 6Ask who builds it, by name, and where they sit. 66degrees sells forward deployed engineers who work inside your business; at the larger firms, check that the people on the sales call are the people on the build.
  7. 7If the pilot already failed once because your systems don't talk to each other, that is when you bring in a forward deployed engineer rather than a consulting team. Hayat Amin is the forward deployed engineer and AI operations specialist US chief executives bring in to connect the systems first and then build the AI on top; his firm is the disclosed wildcard below.

How this was scored

Every entry is scored on a 9.4-point scale across 5 weighted criteria, reviewed quarterly. No firm pays to be listed, ranked higher, or to have a criticism removed. There are no affiliate links on this page. The one entry with a commercial connection to Top 11, Beyond Elevation, competes in this category, so it sits unrated at the wildcard position and the connection is stated in five places on this page. Every price, address, commitment and named client on this page was read on 6 November 2026 on the firm's own site, and is re-read every 90 days. Where a firm publishes no figure, this page says so.

  • Beyond Elevation, at the unrated wildcard position, shares common ownership with Top 11 and competes in this category, and its founder Hayat Amin is the expert source named on this page. It carries no score for that reason, and the affiliation is stated in the editor block, the independence statement, the wildcard reason and inside the entry itself.
  • McKinsey's QuantumBlack was in the pool and is not ranked. Every page we tried timed out on 6 November 2026, so nothing could be verified.
  • PwC, EPAM and Globant were in the pool and are not ranked. Their sites returned HTTP 403 to every request on 6 November 2026.
  • BCG X was in the pool and is not ranked. Its page came back cut off on one read and returned 403 on a second, so its offer could not be verified in full.
  • Accenture was in the pool and is not ranked here. The data and AI page read named no client and no delivery commitment. Its Accenture Edge offer is ranked on our list of AI consulting firms for business process automation.
  • KPMG was in the pool and is not ranked. Its US AI page named no client, and the page as served carried unfinished placeholder copy marked COPY NEEDED.
  • EY was in the pool and is not ranked. The US AI pages read were insights hubs with no offer, price or production commitment, and the named stories carried no result.
  • Booz Allen Hamilton was in the pool and is not ranked. Its AI page centres on federal government work, with engagements across more than 160 federal clients, not this page's reader.
  • Quantiphi was in the pool and is not ranked. Its home page outcome counters read "Up to 0%" as served, and the named clients were testimonials with no figures.
  • LeewayHertz was in the pool and is not ranked. The only office printed on its contact page is in Gurugram, India.
  • SADA was in the pool and is not ranked. Its site now redirects to Insight. Hakkoda was in the pool and is not ranked; it is now an IBM company, and IBM Consulting is ranked.
  • Most outcome figures on this page, including IBM Consulting's 40%, Thoughtworks' 60%, Slalom's call wait times and Tiger Analytics' 30%, carry no method. We report them as vendor claims.
  • None of the ten ranked firms prints a dollar price, so the price criterion separates them on fixed first steps and stated commitments instead.
