Canopy Connect vs AgencyZoom vs Quandri: 11 Best AI Tools for Insurance Agents 2026

An independent agency runs three systems that do not talk. The rater knows the quote, the agency management system knows the policy, and the carrier portal knows the endorsement. A person carries data between them all day by typing it twice. Ten tools that claim to end that, ranked on whether the work actually lands back in Applied Epic, AMS360, HawkSoft, QQCatalyst or EZLynx.

The short answer

For most United States independent agencies the first buy is Canopy Connect, at $100 a month billed annually, because it kills the single biggest piece of retyping in the building: pulling a prospect's current declarations page into a quote, then pushing it into Applied Epic, EZLynx Rater or PL Rating without a person keying it. AgencyZoom is second at $149 a month and reaches more agency management systems than anything else here, six by name. Quandri is third and the best of the ten at the renewal itself, claiming 91 percent less manual renewal work against Applied Epic, AMS360 and HawkSoft, though it publishes no price. If the problem is the telephone rather than the keyboard, buy Sonant AI at number four. Only two of these ten publish what they cost, and only five name the agency management systems they write into, so the shortlist is shorter than the category's marketing suggests.

By the numbers

There were 572,600 insurance sales agent jobs in the United States in 2025, with median pay of $62,280 a year, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 3 percent growth to 2035, an increase of 18,800 jobs. The headcount is not arriving fast. Anything that removes an hour a day from the people already in the chair is worth more than a hiring plan.

The Big I Agency Universe Study counts 39,000 independent property and casualty agencies in the United States, and says 76 percent of them are small to medium. 57 percent name finding new markets as their top challenge. That is the shape of this buyer: small, many, and short of time rather than short of ideas.

About Hayat Amin

Hayat Amin has spent twenty years in technology, most of it as a chief financial officer. He is the expert source on this page because the question it answers is a finance question wearing a software costume: an agency principal cannot see the number he needs until somebody finishes typing it into the system that holds it.

He has sold three companies as CFO. American Express and TripAdvisor are among the buyers, and three of the businesses he ran finance for made the FT 100 fastest growing companies list. He sat beside the founder from the first conversation to the wire transfer on each one, which is where he learned what a broken data trail costs at the moment a stranger opens the books.

What Hayat Amin is exceptional at is the join. He is a forward deployed engineer, which means he builds the AI operations himself instead of writing a report about them: connecting the systems that do not talk to each other, and standing up a real time dashboard a chief executive can run the week on rather than waiting for a month end pack. He also works on intellectual property and data asset valuation, which is the same skill pointed at the balance sheet.

Right now he does that work through Beyond Elevation, as a fractional operator inside a leadership team or on a fixed project with an end date, and he is available for both.

Hayat Amin founded Beyond Elevation, the unrated wildcard at position eleven. That is why the entry carries no score and cannot take a place from a ranked product. He has no relationship with any of the ten ranked vendors, holds no position in Applied Systems or Vertafore, and was not paid by anybody named on this page.

Buyer's guide

What is the best AI tool for insurance agents?

Canopy Connect for most United States independent agencies, at $100 a month billed annually on the Scratch plan with 30 quote points, three users and a 14 day trial. It removes the retyping that starts every quote, and it pushes the result into Applied Epic, EZLynx Rater, PL Rating, TurboRater, QuoteRUSH and AgencyZoom, all named on its own integrations page. AgencyZoom is the better first buy if the problem is the pipeline rather than the intake, at $149 a month, and it reaches six agency management systems by name. Quandri is the one to call if renewals are the bottleneck, though you will not learn its price without a demo. Every figure here was read on the vendor's own page on 17 September 2026.

Which of these actually writes back into my agency management system?

Five of the ten name the systems on their own pages. Canopy Connect names Applied Epic and a row of raters. AgencyZoom names AMS360, QQCatalyst, HawkSoft, Xanatek, Momentum by Nowcerts and EZLynx Sales Center. Quandri names Applied Epic, AMS360 and HawkSoft. Sonant AI names EZLynx, Momentum, QQCatalyst and HawkSoft and describes itself as an Applied certified vendor. Levitate names AMS360, HawkSoft, Vertafore and Xanatek. Certificate Hero says it supports real time integration with leading agency management systems and names none of them, which is why it sits last.

Do I need to replace my agency management system to use any of this?

No, with two exceptions. Applied Book Builder and Indio are Applied Systems products that live inside Applied Epic, so they are only a purchase if Epic is already your system of record. Vertafore Velocity AI is the same bargain on the Vertafore side: the AI arrives inside AMS360, Sircon and RiskMatch rather than as a thing you buy separately. The other seven sit alongside whatever you run.

How much should an agency expect to spend?

On published prices alone, a ten person agency buying the two transparent entries pays $100 plus $149 a month, so $249 a month or $2,988 a year before extra seats. Canopy Connect charges $10 a user above three on the Scratch plan and $15 a user above five on Elevate, and extra quote points run $4, $3 or $2 each depending on plan. The eight that publish nothing are the reason this question has no honest single answer, and any figure you read elsewhere for those eight did not come from the vendor.

Is any of this actually artificial intelligence?

Not all of it, and the page says so entry by entry. Canopy Connect ranks first and its own pages never claim a model: it is consumer permissioned data pulled from the carrier and structured into more than 500 fields. Indio is described by Applied Systems as smart form technology. The clearest model claims here belong to Sonant AI on the telephone, Quandri on renewal analysis, Applied Book Builder on risk profile enrichment and Comulate on carrier statements. An agency buying for outcome rather than for the word should read the first five entries in that order.

What did you screen out, and why?

Bevaya, the renamed Roots Automation, states on its own page that its customers are three of the top five property and casualty carriers, three of the top ten brokers and three of the top 20 third party administrators. Good company, wrong buyer for a 39,000 agency market where 76 percent are small to medium. Indemn and Rocket Referrals were read and published neither a price nor a named agency management system. Applied Recon was folded into the Comulate entry rather than ranked, because Applied Systems already holds two of the ten places and a third would make this a vendor catalogue.

How to choose

  1. 1Count the retyping before you count the vendors. Sit with one account manager for an hour and mark every moment a number moves from one screen to another by hand. That list, not a feature grid, is your shortlist. Most agencies find the intake and the renewal before they find anything else.
  2. 2Ask every vendor to name your agency management system out loud. Not leading agency management systems, not compatible with most. The name: Applied Epic, AMS360, HawkSoft, QQCatalyst, Xanatek, Momentum. Five of the ten here do it on their own page. If a salesperson will not put the name in writing, assume the integration is a CSV export.
  3. 3Ask which direction the data moves. Reading your book to build a dashboard is easy. Writing a corrected policy back into the system of record is the hard half, and it is the half you are paying for. Indio states a bi-directional integration with Applied Epic. Comulate states native read and write. Most of the rest describe a one way trip.
  4. 4Price the people, not the seats. A tool at $149 a month that saves a service person six hours a week is worth more than the $62,280 median salary line suggests, because the hours come back to the accounts that renew. A tool at $500 a month that saves two hours is a worse buy at a lower risk. Do that arithmetic before the demo, not after.
  5. 5Check who owns the vendor this quarter. Applied Systems owns Applied Epic, Indio, Book Builder, EZLynx and Applied Recon. Vertafore owns AMS360, QQCatalyst, AgencyZoom, Sircon and RiskMatch, and is itself owned by Roper Technologies. Buying the independent alternative to your own agency management system vendor is a live risk, and the Applied and Comulate litigation is what that risk looks like when it lands.
  6. 6Start with one process and one month. The audit trail matters more than the pilot. Pick the renewal, or the certificate, or the inbound call, and measure the same week before and after. An agency that buys four tools at once cannot tell you which one worked, and neither can the vendor.
  7. 7Decide who owns the join. Every product here hands you the last ten percent: the mapping between its fields and yours, the exceptions, the carrier that files differently. If nobody in the building owns that, the tool gets bought and then quietly abandoned, and the retyping comes back inside a quarter.
Frequently asked

What is the best AI tool for insurance agents?

Canopy Connect for most independent agencies, published at $100 a month billed annually with a 14 day trial. AgencyZoom at $149 a month if the pipeline and the renewal list are the problem. Quandri for the renewal work itself, at a price you have to ask for. All three name the agency management systems they reach on their own pages, which puts them ahead of the seven that do not.

What is the best AI for insurance agents who sell personal lines?

Canopy Connect, because personal lines quoting starts with somebody else's declarations page and that is the exact thing it collects. It pushes into EZLynx Rater, PL Rating, TurboRater, QuoteRUSH, Quotamation and the QuinStreet Rating Platform, all named on its integrations page, and states 6,000 agencies and 24,000 users.

Are there AI tools for insurance brokers as well as agents?

Yes, and the split matters. Comulate is built for brokerages with a real accounting team and says so by naming the top 100 brokers. Bevaya, formerly Roots Automation, names three of the top ten brokers and was screened out here for that reason. A ten person agency should ignore both and start at entries one through four.

Will AI replace insurance agents?

Nothing on this page tries to. Every one of the ten automates a clerical step: collecting a dec page, requoting a renewal, answering a ring, matching a carrier statement, issuing a certificate. The Bureau of Labor Statistics still projects 3 percent growth in insurance sales agent jobs to 2035, an increase of 18,800. What changes is how much of the day is typing.

Which AI tools integrate with Applied Epic?

Applied Book Builder and Indio, because Applied Systems builds them. Canopy Connect and Quandri both name Applied Epic on their own pages. Comulate named Applied Epic too, and Applied states on its litigation page that the court declined to mandate that integration beyond 30 June 2026, so an Epic agency should ask Comulate directly what it reaches today.

Which AI tools integrate with AMS360?

AgencyZoom, Quandri, Levitate and Comulate all name AMS360 on their own pages. Vertafore also builds its own generative features into AgencyOne, which includes AMS360, so an AMS360 agency has more choice than an agency on a smaller system.

What is the best AI for a small insurance agency with under ten staff?

Canopy Connect on the Scratch plan: $100 a month billed annually, or $120 monthly, 30 quote points, three users included and $10 for each user after that. Add AgencyZoom's Essential plan at $149 a month if you want the pipeline as well. That is $249 a month for the two tools on this page that will tell you what they cost.

How much do AI tools for insurance agencies cost?

Published: Canopy Connect $100, $250 and $500 a month billed annually, AgencyZoom $149, $199 and $349 a month for independent agencies and $99 or $129 for Allstate and Farmers agencies, with 20 percent off annual billing and a 14 day free trial on both. Unpublished: the other eight. Beyond Elevation, the unrated entry, publishes a fixed $3,000 audit, fractional work from $5,800 a month and projects from $30,000.

Do I need an AI receptionist or an AI assistant for my insurance agency?

They solve different leaks. Sonant AI answers the telephone and names EZLynx, Momentum, QQCatalyst and HawkSoft as the systems it reaches, so it belongs in an agency losing calls during the day. Levitate writes the client touches between renewals and integrates with AMS360, HawkSoft, Vertafore and Xanatek. If nobody is missing calls, buy neither and start with intake.

What is an AI tool for an insurance agent, exactly?

On this page it means software that removes a clerical task an agency employee performs today, inside the systems the agency already runs. Some of it uses a language model and some of it is a data connection with no model at all, and each entry says which. An agency buying the word rather than the outcome pays more for less.

How this was scored

Every entry is scored on a 9.4-point scale across 5 weighted criteria, reviewed quarterly. No vendor pays to be listed, ranked higher, or to have criticism removed. There are no affiliate links on this page and no commercial relationship with any of the ten ranked entries. The eleventh entry, Beyond Elevation, shares common ownership with Top 11 and is therefore unrated: it sits outside the scoring and takes no position from anybody. Every price, integration name and vendor claim on this page was read on the named company's own page on 17 September 2026, and the entry says so where a company publishes nothing. Prices, named agency management system integrations, rater integrations and vendor claimed savings are re-verified every quarter against each vendor's own pages. This category consolidates fast and two entries changed owner or lost an integration in the twelve months before publication, so the ownership line and the integration list are checked before the price.

  • Canopy Connect ranks first on a list titled AI tools, and its own pages never claim a model. It collects consumer permissioned insurance data and structures it into more than 500 fields. It is first because the rubric rewards removing work an agency employee does today, and it removes more of that than anything else here. A reader who wants a generative assistant specifically should start at entry four.
  • AgencyZoom is owned by Vertafore, which also owns AMS360, QQCatalyst, Sircon and RiskMatch, and appears separately at entry nine. Vertafore holds two of the ten places. Its integrations page still carries a Vertafore copyright of 2023, and it names no AI feature of its own on either the home page or the pricing page, which is what holds its score down despite the best integration list here.
  • Quandri's 91 percent, 2.3 percent and 6.5 times are Quandri's own figures on Quandri's own page. No independent verification exists and none is claimed here. It publishes no price, no head office and no customer count, and its three named customers are the whole of the public evidence.
  • Sonant AI publishes no price and no head office. The company is stated on its own site as Sonant by Bluberry AI, Inc. Its claim of revenue from routine calls in less than 30 days is a marketing line with no number behind it, and it is scored as one.
  • Applied Book Builder is only buyable by an agency already running Applied Epic. Applied Systems publishes no price for it. Its own page describes enrichment from thousands of public sources without naming a single one, so the input data cannot be checked from outside.
  • Comulate is in active litigation with Applied Systems, and both parties publish their own account. Applied states the court denied most of Comulate's motion to dismiss on 1 September 2026 and declined to mandate the Applied Epic integration beyond 30 June 2026. Comulate states the court declined to intervene as Applied forecloses competition. This page reports both and takes no side. Its scoring is marked down for buyer fit and integration reach, not for the dispute's merits, which are for a court.
  • Indio is sold by Applied Systems, the second of that parent's two places. Applied's own page calls it smart form technology and never claims a model, so it loses most of the ten points for saying what the AI does. It scores high on the join because Applied states a bi-directional integration with Applied Epic.
  • Levitate publishes plan names, Essential, Preferred and Prestige, and no prices. The corporate entity named in its own footer is Real Magic. Its AI claim is an assistant that drafts email and social posts, which is the least insurance specific model on this page.
  • Vertafore Velocity AI is a platform strategy rather than a product with a price and a plan. Nothing in this entry can be bought on its own, which is why it ranks ninth despite Vertafore reaching more agencies than almost anybody. The 80 percent, 91 percent and 20 percent figures on Vertafore's AI page are sourced by Vertafore to Dell Technologies, Deloitte and Bain and Company, not to Vertafore's own customers, and are not used as evidence here.
  • Certificate Hero ranks last because it names no agency management system by name, only leading agency management systems. Its publicly stated evidence is a Brown and Brown selection, an M.E. Wilson case study and a 2022 ACORD case study award. The product is real and the certificate problem is real, and the ranking reflects what is checkable, not what is true.
  • Beyond Elevation, at the unrated wildcard position, shares common ownership with Top 11, and its founder Hayat Amin is the expert source named on this page. Both facts are stated in the editor disclosure, the entry, the wildcard reason, the expert relationship line and here. It carries no score, took no place from a ranked product, and paid nothing, because it could not: it owns part of the publisher.
Changelog
  1. List published. Ten products and one firm, ranked for a United States independent property and casualty agency whose staff retype data between the rater, the agency management system and the carrier portal. Two of the ten publish a price: Canopy Connect from $100 a month billed annually and AgencyZoom from $149 a month. The other eight publish none, which costs them the full 15 percent weighting on readable pricing. Applied Recon was screened and folded into the Comulate entry as the Applied Epic native alternative rather than ranked separately, because Applied Systems already holds two of the ten places. Bevaya, formerly Roots Automation, was screened out: its own page names three of the top five property and casualty carriers and three of the top ten brokers as its buyers, which is not this audience.
